Charity Duck Race
Anchor Sign proudly supported the 2008 Rotary Club of Daniel Island Charity Duck Race held June 7th in Charleston, SC.
The Duck Race is a charitable event in which an Anchor boom truck hoists the "Duck Dumper" 112 feet above the Wando River and drops 15,000 rubber ducks from the I-526 bridge. The ducks then float with the outgoing tide to a finish line where the first 25 ducks to cross generate cash prizes for the lucky people who adopted them!
This years event raised over $100,000 for the Rotary Community Service Projects, Boys & Girls Club of the Trident Area, Crisis Ministries, Down Syndrome Association of the Lowcountry, East Cooper Meals-on-Wheels, Friends of Berkeley County Library, Good Neighbor Center, Hospice of Charleston and the United Methodist Relief Center.
Thank you to all who adopted ducks!
